Regarding a conversation on psychological pleasure and the lack of investigation we may do concerning it:
I watch my reactions to stories, all the stories people tell… I catch myself liking the feeling of one story as opposed to another… and I ask myself, “Why? Why do I like that?” on the other hand “Why do I want to discount that?”
Or, “Why does this story feel bad?”, “Why does this story feel comforting?”
Then there are the people themselves: Why would I like this person, without really knowing them, and not that person?
This is just something I’ve done for a while to investigate my embedded ideas…. I could call these reactions and feelings, ‘pleasurable – not pleasurable’.
How much do we like it when people agree with us? Give us compliments?
We can investigate our physical addictions, to sugar, food, drugs in the same way… but we may find we run into some different components where these are involved
I guess the only important thing to us, as investigators, is we diligently investigate. This shouldn’t take more than 70 or 80 years
