I don’t think that the whole apparatus of cognitive confusion can actually and entirely go away.. To rely to this idea is to cling to some sort of faith which is the usual mythology of “enlightenment” and similar mindsets..
What we are trying to do is an act of promoting at least the interest to think about such apparatus without theorizing second hand thoughts or buying into theosophical, theological, ideological or mumbo jumbo motivational things.. The question indeed is: what would this rational understanding of this apparatus bring?
Surely questioning, investigations, analysis and counter analysis.. because confusion in a way or another will always remain here, but at least as long as we question rather then relying to assumptions, faith and illusions cannot take root and confusion can be at least reduced.. There is no faith in questioning..
