We should remain the hunter gatherer

Whenever I watch documentaries and science shows I try my hardest to ignore the dialogue… I have to listen because they’re showing me pictures of things, maybe things I’ve never seen before, and I want to know about those things… like what is it, where is it, what’s it made of…

What I don’t want are speakers, telling me what it means… The speakers, like all people, have ideas… so anything they see they’ll consciously, or subconsciously, try to fit with their ideas. This is what’s known, to me, as having an agenda…

Astrophysicists, cosmologists, look for Dark Matter… They see things and they tell the world that these things they see support things about Dark Matter. Hopeful things, Hopefully this will lead… Hopefully soon we will…

When was the last time you heard anybody say, “Today we at “some taxpayer funded facility” saw this, while we were looking for this, and it doesn’t fit the model we’ve been pushing… as it turns out this discovery strongly suggests that we’ve been chasing our tail… We were wrong… sorry?

What we want, always skews “What it means”…

I always think back to the experiment with the photons through the slit (micro.magnet.fsu.edu (java) interference doubleslit) when I think of Quantum physics… not sure why… but soon we were off to the Philosophical races… (wikipedia.org Quantum_mechanic Philosophical_implications) … and later, and lately, the new old agers are using Quantum physics to support their want of “Creating Our Own Reality”. We create what we think…

If so, if it were true that we create what we think… then we are truly fucked. I can say this, because I listen to people talk.

The most important question for me, in all this creating our own reality rap, is what are we calling Reality? Are we talking about the observable world of matter? The “Mind over matter” prevention of tooth decay? Is it to know your divine purpose… the creation of a divine purpose, the creation of a heavenly after life? Maybe it’s just creating our own profitable non-profit…

All this nonsense and more starts with the need to find meaning… in things. What’s wrong with things being things? What’s the issue with no meaning? Technical implications and uses for discoveries are great… but I’ll suggest that the search for meaning, the need to make discoveries, finding things, fit our philosophical and idealogical wants, slows technological advancement. I’ll bet any amount of imaginary money that if we’d just find things and use them we’d have flying cars and could leave the planet without strapping people to explosive devices…

Ever notice how quiet the planet is as it goes about doing all the things we haven’t figured out how to do?

We want stuff to mean something because we need it to support our beliefs about things. People did some Quantum Science experiments and saw some things, then they assigned meanings to those things based on what they wanted them to mean, then the headlines appear “Science has caught up with religion” and “Quantum Physics supports the ancients ideas about Spirituality”… and we’re off!!

Instead of making up things about creation, making up things about Earth people and “What We Truly Are”… why not just gather information and lay it all out on the table… Lay it all out, without interpretation or need, for all to see… then go gather some more.

In this sense, we should remain the hunter gatherer… we’re not ready to move passed that yet. People and Science gathered enough data to make a nuclear reaction… Ideologies and wanting fashioned it into a bomb
